Maduro accuses opposition of attack

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro holds the opposition responsible for the alleged attack on his life.

Borges is one of Venezuela's best-known opponents of the government. Last year he received the Sakharov Prize, the human rights award from the European Parliament.

An unknown group with the name 'Soldados de Franelas' (soldiers in flannel) has claimed responsibility for the explosions via Twitter. The group said that it consists of 'patriotic citizens and soldiers. '

On Saturday the president spoke in a military parade in Caracas, when explosions sounded nearby. On television images you can see how people next to Maduro on the stage, including his wife, scare and look up. The camera then turns to the parade, where panic breaks out among the hundreds of soldiers.
