London wants emergency security session on Skripal

The British government wants an emergency session of the Security Council on the assassination attempt last Sunday in Salisbury, southern England, using a chemical weapon.

British Prime Minister Theresa May had demanded that Russia explain for Wednesday what the stuff could do in England. The Kremlin denies having anything to do with the assassination attempt and has given no explanation. Russia is willing to help with the investigation, but the British would thwart it.

May is expected to make a statement in the parliament on Wednesday afternoon.
