Little hindrance due to border controls Austria

Austrian border controls did not lead to long traffic jams, as they were feared.

The controls are not only on motorways, but also on other routes. Most vehicles do not have to stop, but they have to cross the border at 30 kilometers per hour while border guards watch.

There were long traffic jams for trucks on Monday, but that had nothing to do with the special week of border checks. In order to relieve the traffic, the Land of Tirol decided that on certain days no more than 250 trucks per hour are allowed to enter the country. This leads to traffic jams of trucks at the borders with Italy and Germany.
