Lifetime for Australian child abuse

An Australian child abuser and his former partner have been sentenced to life sentences in the Philippines.

The court ruled that Scully was guilty of human smuggling and multiple rapes. One of the victims was only one year old. According to Rappler, the Australian responded barely to the verdict, his female henchman burst into tears.

Dutch investigators also contributed to the investigation. They became involved because Dutch language seemed to be spoken for a few seconds on video images. 'This turned out to be Filipino, but when that became clear, Dutch detectives had already accumulated so much knowledge that they remained involved in the investigation until the arrest of Scully in 2015', reports the police.

Four detectives from the Netherlands eventually received an Australian award for their contribution to the research. One of the policemen compared the hunt for Scully with the search for a needle in a haystack, because the child abuser had done his utmost to 'leave nothing recognizable' in the abuse movies.
