Lifeline migrants welcome in Kiel and Berlin

Berlin and Kiel are prepared to receive migrants from the Lifeline ship.

It is unclear how many migrants want to include Kiel and Berlin. Mayor Michael Müller of Berlin told tageszeitung (taz) that the coalition in Berlin is 'willing to help people who are looking for protection and security'.

The ship Lifeline of the German organization Mission-Lifeline, with around 230 picked up migrants on board in the Mediterranean. Previously, Italy and Malta refused to admit the ship. Meanwhile, Malta would still be willing to let the ship moor, but the government of the country has not yet officially confirmed it.
