Letter setter devastating for Flemish spruces

The 'typesetter' hits in Pelt, in Heusden-Zolder and Genk.

The typesetter, with Latin name 'Ips Typographus', is a beetle from the family of the bark beetles. The animals are dark brown and mainly occur on the spruce. In Wallonia the animal has been causing serious damage to fine spruce for years. This year he is making his advance to Flanders. Especially in the wooded areas in Limburg and Flemish Brabant.
