Left frowns eyebrows for new name FN

The left wing in France immediately frowned when they heard the proposal to baptize Front National in Rassemblement National.

'Do the responsible people within the FN not know French history? Or do they play with it? 'Alexis Corbière asked on Twitter. The deputy of the left-wing populist party, La France Insoumise, recalled that Marcel Déat, the founder of the RNP, is eternally known as a collaborator.

'A conscious reference? Who knows, 'Corbière sneered. He added that Roland Gaucher, who was the base of the Front National with Jean-Marie Le Pen in 1972, was already at the RNP during the war years.
