Leader Egypt gets 97 percent of votes

The Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah al-Sisi won the presidential election in his country by a large majority.

Sisi was considered the winner of the election because all serious challengers had dropped out. Most of the approximately 59 million voters decided to stay at home. The turnout was 41 percent. The only counter-candidate, Moussa Mustafa Moussa, received about 3 percent of the votes.
