At least they can leave. Many people in the Swiss mountains no longer. Avalanches and landslides caused by the recent violent storm have blocked roads to places in southwestern Switzerland.

For example, the valleys that are popular with skiers such as Saas, the Lötschental and the Gommertal are closed off for a part of the outside world. Ski resort Leukerbad is no longer accessible due to avalanches. According to local media, there are an estimated 10,000 people there.
