Kremlin critic smeared with green liquid

Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalni Monday stained with a green liquid as he left the headquarters of his party in Barnaul in Siberia.

The attack was captured on video. Navalni walking down the street and shaking the hands of people as he walks off a stranger to him and throw the stuff in his face. The stuff is known as zelyonka and sold by pharmacies as an antiseptic in Russia.

Navalni is one of the main critics of current President Vladimir Putin. He organized mass protests against corruption and nepotism in the Kremlin. In 2013 Navalni ran for the mayoralty of Moscow. He lost the elections of Sergei Sobianin, which had the support of Putin, but was surprisingly more than a quarter of the votes.
