Kremlin: consulting Tillerson constructive

The interviews conducted by the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Moscow have been under the Kremlin 'constructive'.

'We hope this will be transmitted to the President of the US,' said Peskov. He added that it was agreed to keep open the lines of communication between Moscow and Washington.

Tillerson Wednesday first spoke with his Russian counterpart Sergej Lavrov and then Putin. Then Lavrov spoke again informally with Tillerson about opportunities to come closer together again. The encounter was important to help Americans understand the attitude of Russia, Lavrov said.

Tillerson was the first member of the government Trump visited Moscow. He said the current relationship between the US and Russia is at a low point and that confidence is lacking.
