Kosovo and Montenegro explain border dispute

Kosovo and Montenegro have reached an agreement on a sweeping border dispute on Friday.

Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi said that the Kosovo Parliament should now vote to ratify the 2015 demarcation agreement, which Montenegro has already done.

Attempts to vote in the past led to violence in Kosovo, where members of parliament threw tear gas and demonstrators collided with the police on the streets.

The opposition parties in Kosovo were opposed to the 2015 agreement because they thought it wrongly gave away about 8000 hectares of territory to Montenegro.
