Koreas start symbolically with recovery track

In a next step to rapprochement, South and North Korea have symbolically begun to restore their rail and road connections in the border area.

The ceremony was attended by some 200 government representatives and guests from South and North Korea, South Korean broadcasters reported. Russia, China and Mongolia and the UN Economic and Social Committee on Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) also sent representatives to demonstrate that the importance of the project is not limited to the Korean peninsula.
