Koreas not together at opening Paralympics

North and South Korea do not form one Korean team on Friday at the opening of the Paralympic Games.

The North Korean team consists of 24 men and women and arrived on Wednesday in Pyeongchang in South Korea, where the Paralympic Games are held until 18 March. The Olympic Games were there in February.

The participation of Stalinistically-ruled North Korea in the Games in Western South Korea has considerably reduced the tensions in the region. The hard-to-reach dictator Kim Jong-un sent his sister to the Winter Games and spoke with a South Korean delegation during a dinner last Monday for four hours. He will report on Thursday in Washington.
