Korea \u0026 # x27; s open liaison office in border village

North and South Korea open Friday a liaison office between the two countries in the North Korean border village of Kaesong.

The bureau is part of the agreements made by the leaders of both countries during their consultations in April. The office is headed by a North Korean deputy minister and a South Korean deputy minister. They will hold weekly consultations. In addition, there will be twenty South Koreans working and between fifteen and twenty North Koreans.

The intention of the agency is to improve the communication between the countries. All border matters are also arranged at the office. According to the South Korean Ministry for Unity, it is a new step in reducing tensions.
