King Tonga hesitate about marriage daughter

The King of Tonga, Tupou VI, take the time to decide if his only daughter Princess Latufuipeka Angelika Tuku'aho (33) to marry Eiki Faka'osifono Vale Vale.

Tuesday Faka'osifono appeared with his family and entourage at the Royal Palace in the capital Nuku'alofa to inform traditional manner to the situation. According to his father Lord Nuku went to a faitohi 'use to approach the parents of the princess and (once again) to ask for her hand. A representative of King Tupou VI said that the prince had not yet decided.

Princess Angelika is the only daughter and eldest child of the King. She is fifth in line to the throne, and since August 2012 the High Commissioner (ambassador) of the small Pacific kingdom in Australia, a position held her father as crown prince before.

According to the Constitution of Tonga may throne members entitled to marry the royal family without the consent of the king. If they do so then the king has the option to declare the marriage null and stakeholders to exclude from the succession.
