Killed in military operation in southern Turkey

Since mid-December the ongoing military offensive against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party PKK in southeastern Turkey has again claimed a large number of casualties.


         In the province of Sirnak, ten PKK fighters slain, according to the military. Also, two soldiers succumbed to their wounds during clashes in the Kurdish city of Diyarbakir. According to news agency DHA a policeman died Monday of his injuries.
The pro-Kurdish party HDP reported Monday that three civilians were killed. In Cizre police had shot dead a 43-year-old man and was in Silopi a 34-year-old man slain by a sniper, while his wife was seriously injured. A day earlier, a 38-year-old woman victim of artillery fire in Diyarbakir, said HDP.
In Cizre, Silopi and the municipality of Sur in Diyarbakir in force since mid-December curfew.
