Killed by avalanche in Canada

At least five people in Canada are killed by an avalanche.

At least three different groups were in the vicinity of the village of McBride overwhelmed by the avalanche, which would be caused by humans. So far five bodies have been recovered. One person was injured and taken to hospital. Rescuers are still searching for other victims.

People returning from the disaster area were questioned by police, told a local undertaker. The police was trying to find out if more people are missing. A search involving helicopters had to be stopped because of darkness.
