Kill in bull wrestling India

In the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, at least four people have died in traditional wrestling matches with bulls in recent days.

In the sport, called jalikattu, big prizes can be won, such as cars, refrigerators and televisions. In order to get hold of them, the participants must grab the bull's bump and let themselves be carried away by the animal for several dozen meters. They can also try to grab prizes attached to the horns of the animal. The victims fell mainly among spectators.

The Indian Supreme Court banned jalikattu in 2014 because it was too dangerous. Last year, the government lifted this ban after mass protests in Tamil Nadu to preserve the sport. Jalikattu would have been practiced for more than two thousand years.
