Kill by assault rebels in Ebola field

At least fourteen civilians were killed by an attack by rebels in the Congolese Ebola region.

The attack was probably carried out by fighters from the Islamic rebel group ADF. According to a local official, they fought with Congolese government troops. In Beni, where hundreds of thousands of people live, there is also a treatment center for Ebola.

The last outbreak of that deadly virus has so far estimated nearly a hundred people killed. A health officer warned that the latest violent outbreak will further complicate the control of the virus.
