Khamenei: our enemies have failed

The Iranian spiritual leader Ali Khamenei has been removed to alleged foreign enemies.

'The country says again to the US, Great Britain and others who want to overthrow the Islamic Republic from abroad: you have failed and that will happen again in the future,' said the spiritual leader. Such remarks indicate that the Iranian rulers of power suspect that the days of unrest have largely been suppressed.

Protesters recently took to the streets in dozens of cities. At least 22 people lost their lives during the riots and at least a thousand people were arrested.

The head of the Israeli intelligence service Mossad agreed in Jerusalem that the unrest would probably not endanger the Iranian establishment. 'People should not have too high expectations, although I would welcome a significant revolution,' said director Yossi Cohen at a conference.
