Islamologist Tariq Ramadan behind bars for rape

Islamologist Tariq Ramadan, who has worked in Rotterdam for two years as a professor and integration advisor, is officially suspected of rape.

The two women filed a declaration against Ramadan in October last year. They reported with similar stories: they wanted advice on their faith, and talked to him in a hotel. The 55-year-old theologian, Swiss of Egyptian origin, quickly proposed to go to his room.

The Tunisian writer Henda Ayari (41) came out with her story after the release of the Weinstein affair and the French version of the #MeToo movement, 'tell your pig'. This former salafist threw off her headscarf and since then has been involved in the women's business. Ramadan would have told her that 'she should have worn a veil without being a prostitute.' She is later confronted with her assailant in the investigation.
