ISIS doubles number of foreign fighters

In the past eighteen months, the terrorist group Islamic State (ISIS) doubled the number of foreign fighters to an estimated 31,000.

The chaos of the Syrian Civil War draws Barrett as the new generation of jihadists. ISIS much more successful than other terrorist groups like al-Qaeda. Numerous Western leaders have said that IS is a bigger threat than al-Qaeda. Barrett, who works at a private consultant on security issues in New York, believes that much more needs to be done,null, against the appeal of ISIS. Many fighters IS come from the Middle East itself, from North Africa and the countries of the former Soviet Union. Approximately 5.000 fighters are from the EU.
