IS terrorist does not depend on attack

An alleged IS fighter who drove a car with explosives has surrendered to Libyan security forces.

The suspect surrendered at a checkpoint about 100 kilometers south of the coastal city. 'Explosives experts are dismantling the car bomb,' the source told Reuters. He did not explain why the driver decided to go to the authorities.

Brigades from Misrata played an important role in the battle for Sirte, the then stronghold of Islamic State in Libya. Libyan fighters ousted the jihadists from that city in 2016. Experts believe that IS has since been trying to regroup in the desert.
