IS destroys rejoin ancient city of Palmyra

The terrorist group Islamic State (IS) has in the ancient ruined city of Palmyra in eastern Syria destroyed several ancient buildings.

HAS conquered Palmyra in December for the second time on the Syrian government army, which is then focused on the conquest of Aleppo in northern Syria.

Earlier ruined IS already several buildings in the old city, including the Temple of Baal Shamin, built in the first century AD. In recent years it has often happened that IS cultural heritage in Syria and Iraq destroyed. The UN organization UNESCO calls it a war crime.
