Ireland votes on legalization abortion

More than 3 million Irish people can vote in a referendum on Friday about legalization of abortion.

The Irish constitution guarantees the unborn child the same rights to life as the mother. The article was adopted by referring vote by 67 percent of voters 35 years ago on the initiative of opponents of abortion. Now the proponents of legalization hope that Roman Catholic Ireland will be tackled.

This seems possible in polls, with more than 40 per cent in favor of legalization and more than 30 per cent adversary. But nearly a fifth of the respondents did not know it yet, Irish media reported on Thursday, the day the polling stations opened up on some islands off the west coast.
