Iraq: polling stations in Kirkuk besieged

Several polling stations in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk were besieged by armed men on Wednesday evening, four days after the parliamentary elections.

Riyadh al-Badran said that the armed men, whom he did not identify, put pressure on the committee to change the election results. 'The committee's staff are in a hostage situation,' he said, calling on the authorities to provide protection.
