IMF and Ukraine agree terms on aid

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Ukraine have agreed on the reforms needed for the country to become eligible in July for financial support.

It is about the third tranche of emergency aid, accounting for $ 1.7 billion (1.5 billion euros). The whole process around loans suffered particular delays. The economy in dire straits facing Ukraine presented its application for the new installment until very late, due to the political turmoil in Kiev. The government of the country recently faced serious allegations of corruption.

The IMF has previously totaled $ 17.5 billion in aid pledged to Ukraine. Allocated in several steps and for that Ukraine must always meet certain conditions.
