Hungary takes on universities to

The Hungarian parliament on Tuesday accepted a law that threatens the survival of a university founded by philanthropist and billionaire George Soros.

The institutions should also have a campus in their homeland. By the Hungarian-American Soros founded Central European University (CEU) does not meet that requirement. Last Sunday, thousands of protesters took to the streets in the Hungarian capital of Budapest to protest against the law that they see as an attack on the freedom of education.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has frequently criticized organizations supported by Soros.
