Houthi militias head killed

The coalition fighting the Houthi rebels in Yemen under the leadership of Saudi Arabia has killed one of the leaders of the movement.

Earlier in the day, the Yemeni army reportedly turned off 13 Houthi fighters during a fierce battle near al-Bayda in the south. Dozens of others were injured. Elsewhere, fighter jets of the coalition harassed targets of the Houthis, including a weapon depot.

A spokesman from the UN expressed his indignation at the air strikes in the Hodeida region, which caused many civilian casualties on Thursday. At least 22 children and four women died. A school bus was recently bombed in Saada.
