Hope to wonder for missing billionaire

Rescue workers in the Swiss Alps have unsuccessfully sought all possible places where CEO Karl-Erivan Haub of the German Tengelmann group could lie.

Rescue services no longer speak of a rescue operation, but of a salvage operation where less risk is taken. His family has also abandoned the hope that Haub is still alive. The top man disappeared last Saturday during a ski tour on the Klein Matterhorn. He did not return to his hotel in Zermatt that afternoon.

Haub has been at the helm at Tengelmann since 2000, owner of, among other things, German hardware stores. He is one of the richest people in Germany.
