Hefty fine after being run iguana

A bus driver from Ecuador to pay a fine of the equivalent of 13,000 euros because he was on the island of Baltra, part of the Galapagos, ran over a land iguana.

The bus was carrying tourists from the airport to the ferry to go to the neighboring, larger island of Santa Cruz. The short ride seven kilometers took a Galapagos land iguana, a protected species of lizards 1.20 meter long, life. Animal welfare must make regular copies in safety crawling across the runway from Baltra.
