Green light for transitional period after brexit

The EU leaders have approved a transition period for the British after their departure from the EU on March 29, 2019.

They deal with the future relationship between Brussels and London. The EU is committed to a 'balanced, ambitious and broad free trade agreement. '

On Monday, EU negotiator Michel Barnier and British brexit minister David Davis reached agreement on a transitory period until 1 January 2021 in which the rules of the Customs Union and the Internal Market continue to apply to the British. They may then no longer participate in decisions about EU legislation. During this 21-month period, EU citizens can continue to settle freely in Great Britain.

Some points have not yet been negotiated on the separation conditions. The government leaders want extra efforts to be made for this now.
