Greek gang sold medicines for cancer

The Greek authorities have rolled up a criminal organization that would have sold medication to treat cancer abroad.

The suspects would have used counterfeit doctor's prescriptions to get the funds. They would then have been transferred to Italy, Germany and Switzerland. There the medicines could be sold with a hefty profit. A police spokesman accused the suspects 'only to have been driven by profit'.

The value of the medicines that have been brought abroad is estimated at around 25 million euros. The police are still investigating whether real cancer patients have become the victims of the activities of the gang, which would have been active since 2013. The arrested suspects are between 22 and 70 years old.
