Government USA wants a maximum of 30,000 refugees

The Trump government plans to include a maximum of 30,000 refugees in the 2019 fiscal year.

'This year's proposed refugee ceiling has to be placed in the context of the many other forms of protection and assistance offered by the United States,' said foreign minister Mike Pompeo. He calls the United States 'the most generous nation in the world when it comes to protective immigration'.

Whether the quota is also achieved is still the question. The US is expected to allow around 22,000 refugees this year. That is almost half of the now set limit of 45,000.
