To prevent photos inadvertently tablet or phone disappear, users must confirm the first automatic action. Even photos stored on the SD card of the device can now be removed in this manner. The option is currently only available for Android, it is not yet known when it will be rolled out to iOS.
Furthermore, Google introduced a new feature on the Web version of Photos that makes it possible to save more in original format backed up photos in high quality. For photos in original quality users to run against a storage quota, while for photos in high quality and for an unlimited storage space.
