Germany wants to test 96-year-old ex-SS

Justice in Germany wants to try a 96-year-old former camp guard of the SS.

The man would have served as guardian in the German destruction camp Lublin-Majdanek in Poland then occupied as a 22-year-old between August 1943 and January 1944. He would have watched people who were killed later. According to justice, he was aware of the organized murder of people like all other SSs. The man would have helped with the death of 17,000 Jews in November 1943.

The defendants have been examined for medical purposes. According to justice, he can prosecute two days a week for a maximum of two hours.
