Germany agreed on self-propelled cars

Germany has paved the way for the automotive industry to develop and test self-propelled cars.

According to the law, introduced by German Chancellor Angela Merkel last year, there is always a driver behind the wheel, who can take control again if necessary. Also, a black box must register the trip and keep track of when the driver is driving and when the automatic pilot is driving. The latter may be important in assigning the debt if an accident occurs.
