Germans never drank so much beer

Germans never drunk as much beer as last year.

In 1991 the Germans drank 110.5 million hectoliters of beer, but has since dropped that amount systematically.

The German brewers remain nonetheless do well, but they have to do it thanks to exports. Between 2014 and 2015 exports rose by 4 percent, while domestic beer consumption fell by 0.7 percent.
