German watchdog: Destroy talking doll

The German regulator Bundesnetzagentur calls parents to make the talking doll 'My friend Cayla' harmless.

The doll was sold in the Netherlands Intertoys and Bart Smit. After the Norwegian Consumer noted that anyone can eavesdrop around the doll with a mobile phone via Bluetooth calls and the doll can say something, decided Blokker Holding, owner of Bart Smit and Intertoys early December the talking doll preliminary precaution to pick off the shelves.

The doll is banned in Germany, says president of the Bundesnetzagentur Jochen Homann. The toy must not be sold. Genesis Toys manufacturer has not yet responded, according to the BBC on the call of the German regulator.
