German parties want to finalize consultations on Sunday

The CDU, sister party CSU, the liberal FDP and the Greens hope to finalize the talks for the formation of a coalition government in Germany on Sunday afternoon.

According to sources during the discussions, Saturday progress has been made on the topics of agriculture and economy. In the area of migration and climate change themes, the parties are still quite apart. In order to limit greenhouse gas emissions, the Greens want to go further than the other parties. As far as immigration policy is concerned, the CSU has a stricter policy than CDU, FDP and the Greens.

Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel had previously worked on finalizing negotiations last Thursday. Despite discussions until late at night, that did not work.
