German government wants 650 troops to Mali

The German government wants to send 650 German troops to northern Mali to be part of a peacekeeping force there.

So far, Germany has two hundred soldiers in the African country as part of the EU Training Mission. They are active in the relatively safe southern Mali. Berlin has allocated only ten soldiers for the dangerous mission of the UN. They sit in the headquarters of MINUSMA in the capital Bamako.

With sending the extra troops, which will contribute to the maintenance of the peace agreement between rebels and the Malian Government, Berlin France wants to defecate in the fight against Islamic State.
