Gambia vice president resigned

The Gambian Vice President Isatou Njie Saidy has resigned.

Saidy held the post of Vice President since 1997. According to government sources, the Minister of Education, Abubakar Senghore, submitted his resignation. More likely the Gambian police Ousman Sonko and army chief Ousman Badjie have said they do not take orders from more Jammeh.

Jammeh lost the presidential election in December, but to have been the power after 22 years, he is reluctant to leave. The winner of the presidential election, Adama Barrow, Thursday afternoon is installed in the Gambian Embassy in Dakar, the capital of neighboring Senegal.
