Front in East Ghouta seems calm

The temporary file proposed by the Russian and Syrian leaders on the front east of Damascus seems to be successful.

The temporary battle break must last until 2.00 pm and would apply for several days. It should be possible to offer help to the many citizens in East Ghouta besieged since 2013. The Kremlin has announced that it wants to evacuate injured and sick.

It is not known whether the combat groups, which consist mainly of Sunni extremists, let citizens go. Moscow and Damascus have pointed out that the fighters use civilians as human shields and distribute images of wounded citizens in order to attract international sympathy. Many people were also held hostage by the fighters.
