From behind the bars behind the bars

The ever so popular Bill Cosby was the first African American in 1965 to play a major role in a dramatic television series: I Spy.

For eight seasons, the comedian Heathcliff Huxtable, doctor and father of five children played what earned him the nickname 'America's Dad'. After that he continued acting, in various TV series and theater shows, but never again with the success of The Cosby Show.

Rumors that the famous actor was guilty of sexual misconduct have been around for some time. But when a video in which comedian Hannibal Buress joked about the misconduct of Cosby in 2014 grew into an Internet hit, it was fine. More and more women came out with accusations of abuse.
