French couturier Courrèges deceased

The French couturier Andre Courreges is deceased at the age of 92.

In 1964 the fashion man broke through with his Space Age collection consisting of angular futuristic silhouettes of PVC, rubber and plastic. Courrèges was often mentioned in the same breath with the British designer Mary Quant. Together, they would be responsible for the success of the miniskirt.
The designer was for some time no longer active. In 2011 the entrepreneurs Jacques Bungert and Frédéric Torloting bought the label. Last year Arnoud Valliant and Sebastien Meyer were appointed as creative directors of the brand. During the Paris Fashion Week she showed off the spring / summer collection for this year's catwalk.
