Fountains Rome spruced saving grace as riots

Dutch restaurateurs in Rome began restoration work on two historic fountains.

The famous seventeenth-century Barcacciafontein the Spanish Steps was damaged by the riots. So were scratched due beer bottles and other garbage that was thrown into it. Rome has repaired the damage.

In order to make a gesture, two other fountains are chosen for a makeover worth about 20 000. Restauratiebedrijf Koninklijke Woudenberg and SALVIAMO La Barcaccia, the club 'Roman Dutch' that initiated the action, letting it know Wednesday.

The fountains that will be tackled are the Bees Fountain (Fontana delle Api) and the Fontana dei Giardini.
