Former Prime Minister of Kosovo remains in French cell

Ramush Haradinaj, a former prime minister of Kosovo must remain in the French prison until Serbia submitted a formal extradition request.

Wednesday Ramush Haradinaj was in France called Kosovo uden based on a Serbian arrest warrant in 2004. Serbia considers Haradinaj, who was a key guerrilla commander during the uprising of 1998, as a war criminal. However, the Yugoslavia Tribunal in The Hague spoke to him in the past, twice free.

The arrest put the relationship between Kosovo and Serbia on edge. The Kosovo government wants the European Union to put pressure on Serbia to lift the international arrest warrants against some twenty former Kosovo guerrillas.
