Focus on privacy was at the expense of Siri

Apple has focused on privacy in recent years and at the expense of the development of digital assistant Siri.

By default, Apple removes data by default after six months, employees working on Siri do not have much data to improve the system. Amazon, Google and Microsoft had more data at their disposal and could further develop their digital assistants. With the data you can train the system in speech recognition and distinguishing sounds.

'The iTunes Store has good data but its scale is not that of Amazon or Google,' says former employee Jason Douglas. In addition, Apple introduced a manager who knew nothing about voice-enabled systems. It caused Apple to lag behind competitors.

Apple was the first manufacturer in 2011 to introduce a built-in assistant to a phone. That was at the time when the iPhone 4s were launched. Later, Google followed with Now and Assistant, Microsoft with Cortana and Amazon with Alexa as digital assistants.
