Flynn stops consultations with Trump lawyers

The lawyers of Michael Flynn no longer share information with the advisers of President Donald Trump.

The discontinuation of the consultation between the law teams could indicate, according to US media, that Flynn is prepared to cooperate with Robert Mueller, the special prosecutor who investigates possible Russian interference in the American elections. It is customary for lawyers to share information in complex investigations, but stop doing so as soon as one of the parties is in consultation with the prosecutor. A lawyer from President Trump calls the abandonment 'not entirely unexpected' and emphasizes that it does not have to mean anything.

Flynn served as a Trump safety advisor for 24 days, but was sidelined after it appeared that he had lied to Vice President Mike Pence about his contacts with a Russian diplomat.
